Ammonium Acetate

Ammonium Acetate is used in textile dying as a mordant in dyeing of wool, silk, acrylics, nylon. It is also used in the surface treatment of metals, as a gelling agent in production of rubber latex, in the production of gel foam carpet backing, and is used as a biodegradable de-icing agent. Ammonium Acetate is also used with acetic acid to create a buffer solution that can be thermally decomposed to non-ionic products. Ammonium Acetate is also often used in organic synthesis.
